
The house is one of the oldest houses from early Colonial period and provides insight into the kind of lifestyle lived by the gentry in Princess Anne County. Restored in 1957, today it is a museum and is open to the public. The house is owned by the City of Virginia Beach, which acquired it in 2003.

Bayville Farms Park is a 68-acre park established in 1978 through the cooperative efforts of the City of Virginia Beach, the National Park Service, and Virginia's Department of Conservation and Recreation. Of special interest is the 20-hole disc golf course, the first such course in Virginia Beach.
The area known as Chicks Beach is located down Pleasure House Rd. and heads west to the left of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to the end of the Chicks Beach neighborhood where it meets with Navy Station Little Creek. Chicks Beach extends easterly to the right of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and extends for about one mile west towards the Lesner Bridge and stops where Lookout Rd. changes names to Indian Hill.
A parking lot is available from 8:00am – 4:00pm daily for $5.00 per car at the Alexander’s parking lot at the end of Fentress Ave on the beach. Cars must be removed by 4:00pm for restaurant customers’ usage.

Originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, First Landing State Park is located by the Chesapeake Bay. The park, which is Virginia’s most visited state park, is nestled in Virginia Beach. First Landing offers boating, swimming, nature and history programs, hiking, biking, picnicking, a boat launch, cabins and 20 miles of trails on 2,888 acres. It also has campsites with water and electric hook-ups and nearby access to restrooms and showers.

Our Garden has grown from humble beginnings as a WPA project to a 155-acre garden filled with thousands of plants. More than thirty themed gardens are spread across site. Some gardens focus on a single plant (camellias, hydrangeas, roses), others look at a plant from a specific region (Japan, Virginia), while others provide homeowners with great ideas and or new plants to use in their own garden.
